The Vice President of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, last week made a courtesy visit to the Vice President of Ghana, Her Excellency Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, in Accra.
According to Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, the visit climaxed his working visit to Ghana, during which several engagements were held with senior state officials, Ghanaian business owners who are currently operating in Sierra Leone, and those who have expressed interest in doing the same. Some of these areas of operation, he added, include gas, digitalization, mining logistics, and general trade.
The Vice President said Sierra Leone and Ghana have come a long way and that both countries continue to enjoy great bilateral relations to improve the African continent. He congratulated his Ghanaian counterpart on the first anniversary since she was sworn in as Vice President about a year ago, and for having worked collectively over the year to put the economy of Ghana on a sound footing.
The South-South cooperation (SSC), according to Vice President Jalloh, is cardinal, especially to the African continent, as it deals with the exchange of resources, technology, and knowledge among emerging countries.
The Vice President of Ghana expressed joy over the visit and thanked the Sierra Leone Vice President and team for their visit, and welcomed them to Ghana.
She spoke on how important it is for both countries to collaborate and continue to learn from each other with open minds, adding that both nations can keep an eye on each other to strengthen the continent.
With special importance on free trade, Ghana’s Vice President said that if much attention is given to it, there will be a great difference in the lives of Africans, as the resources of the continent will be judiciously used.
Both leaders pledged their support to working together for the betterment of the continent and their respective countries.
The Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, was accompanied by the High Commissioner of Sierra Leone in Ghana, Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba, and other diplomatic staff of the High Commission.
